In this case, all levels of the German government were informed of the peripheral effects from their upcoming
vote. The outcome of the vote speaks more to their true outlook on aboriginal and rural peoples rather than on
seals. The German government has made it painfully obvious that they support middle to upper class
self-righteous urbanites over those rural peoples trying to eek out an existence in harsh environments. Such
things should not be surprising seeing that this has been the case throughout history.
Interestingly, the existence of this letter has never been released by the German government.
On another note, this letter should be an education for Paul Watson and Rebecca Aldworth who seem to have the
bigoted point of view that the Inuit are little more than Canadian government puppets, a people who can not
think and speak for themselves. To counter this perspective, it is not hard to see why the Inuit people would
fight against seal pelt bans considering the devestating effects the last ban had and this letter reflects the
fact that the inuit people do not need anyone to talk for them, they do quite a good job themselves. Yet again,
Pauly and Becky show themselves to be painfully misinformed or would it be misleading.
